Thames Valley Network U3A – Kelmscott Manor – Study Day 30th August

Please find attached the flyer and application form for the TVN study day on 30th August which is the last opportunity to visit Kelmscott, the summer home of William Morris, before it closes for maintenance work.

St Mary’s Church, Chalgrove The earliest part of the church is 13th Century. In the 14th Century the chancel was decorated with wall paintings. The paintings were limewashed over during the reformation and rediscovered in 1858. These paintings are of international importance. The church also has an unusual painted monument dating from the end of the 17th Century. We will meet at the church at 2pm. For more details contact Odette Harris at churches@wtu3a.org.uk. |
