Welcome to Weston Turville u3a (WTu3a). Whether you are already a member, or are looking to find out what we do we hope that you will find what you need here.
Our u3a was first formed in 2010 so we are still a relatively young u3a. We hope that you will find us diverse and welcoming and that you will find something to interest you. We have a wide range of groups and activities. If you want to know more just take a look at the Activities Tab on the website.
The groups range in size from those that can comfortably be held in someone’s house (usually with tea and biscuits!) to the trips involving 50-60 members. By becoming involved with a particular group you will begin to make new and meaningful friendships. There is no limit on the number of groups to which you can belong, but active participation is usually required.
We hold a monthly meeting on the fourth Thursday afternoon of every month except December at the Rugby Club, Brook End, Weston Turville at 2.30pm. We usually have a guest speaker, coffee & catch up with friends, but from time to time we organise a purely social meeting with no speaker, such as a lunchtime barbeque. There’s a monthly e-mail newsletter (duplicated on this site) and on both there are reports about groups, trips and other future events. If you are not on email we can arrange a paper copy for you.
The membership year is 1st April to 31st March. Annual membership is £15.00 per person. For those joining from 1st October, the membership fee is reduced to £7.50 per person.
These fees include a £4.00 membership fee paid to our national organisation, the Third Age Trust, which provides a wide range of services and benefits, including liability insurance cover and a magazine, Third Age Matters, published five times per year in February, April, June, September and November.
If you wish to Gift Aid your membership fee, please complete the Gift Aid Form. The Gift Aid WTu3a reclaims from HMRC is a significant amount and it assists us in maintaining a low annual subscription rate for our members.
