Science & Technology – A New Year

30 January, 2017

A very lucid description of the inner workings of Global Positioning Systems by Damian Campbell  in January got the Science & Technology group off to a great start for 2017.

To follow that – a difficult task – are these taking us up to July:

  * February 2nd –  ‘The Early History of Photography’ by Gareth Evans who was an employee of Kodak.
  * March 3rd – visit the ‘Energy from Waste’ plant at Greatmoor (10k from Waddesdon) –  Please note that there will be a certain amount of stair climbing and we are required to be kitted in their safety equipment.
  * April 6th – we will be taking A ‘paper trail’ in Hemel Hempstead.
  * May 4th – visit the Amazon automated warehouse facility.
  * June 1st – tentative plans to visit Chatham Docks.
  * July 6th – a talk on ‘The Four Minute Warning’.

If you are interested in any of the trips or learning more about the S&T meetings please contact John Beer by e-Mail (science@wtu3a.org.uk) or at a U3A meeting.
