Extreme Visits – Curling – 10th October

5 August, 2019

We are in the process of organising a Curling experience at The English National Curling Centre at Fenton’s Rink near Tunbridge Wells on Thursday 10th October.  Event details are attached.

Don’t get too worried, it’s not on skates and they can supply non-slip shoes and even “curling cues” for static delivery without needing to bend.  Further details of how they accommodate senior citizens here.

The rink is really only 1 1/2 hours drive from Weston Turville and we had originally considered a coach, but now many are looking to stay overnight and visiting local attractions such as Bodium Castle while in the area.

We have found a local wedding venue (Salomons Estate), without a wedding on 10 Oct. who are offering dinner, bed and breakfast at a delegate rate of £55 + £20 single room supplement. (Deposit required).

So while the event is still taking shape – is anyone else interested in joining us?  If so, contact the extreme team.

Garden Visits – Stowe – 17th October

2 August, 2019

Bookings are now being taken for the garden and house visit to Stowe(NT).

In the eighteenth century, the powerful Temple-Grenville family chose to create an idyllic landscape filled with temples. Amidst these large gardens, they built the most lavish temple of all, Stowe House.

Stowe House is not owned by The National Trust so there is an entry charge for all visitors.  The cost for NT members is £5.50 (house entry).   For non-NT members the cost is £11.70 (gardens) plus £5.50 (house entry), so a total of £17.20. A garden tour has been booked.

For more details see the diary page on the WTU3A website.
