La Beaujolaise Nouveau arrivera sur le 19eme Novembre …
… and we’ll be awaiting its arrival at the Village Gate to intercept it as it arrives to ‘enjoy’ the new arrival and truly enjoy the four course menu that it will accompany.
The new owner of the Village Gate, David Cavalier, has brought this restaurant to new heights in food and drink (though he’ll, no doubt have reservations about the Nouveau!).
He has achieved seven Michelin stars in his 35 year career and his vision is to bring quality food and drink to Wendover offering a family friendly service and value for money. Local ingredients and skill make the dining experience unforgettable.
Here are the details of the event. This will be popular so make sure you get booking if you want to go!

Another great month of exciting and interesting activities compressed onto two sides of A4 – how do we do all that Mandi’s written about, and more to the point, why?!
The joyous answer is, of course, that we can and we want to and resolutely do not behave our age more like our shoe sizes!
Enough of this twaddle – read on … June newsletter

Thank You – Group Leaders

This is a special Thank You to many of our Group Leaders from our Chairman, David Johnson for contacting new WTU3A members who have put your group’s activity as one of their interest on their membership application.
Our Membership Secretary Mary Duly tells me that there have been very favourable comments regarding these emails; about your interest taken and information given.
As you know WTU3A continues to attract new members. Your positive attitudes have fostered this growth. I am aware that some groups are getting close to being full. If this is the case with your group I would ask you to encourage one of your group to form a new group so that WTU3A can continue to cater to new members.
Thank you all.
Dave Johnson
What Extreme Heights the WTU3A goes to …

Well, these two do as they were the chief movers in the most recent Extreme Visits activity – abseiling down the side of the Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth Harbour.
They lead a large contingent from Weston Turville, accompanied by a number from other U3As and took over the venue for the day each abseiling 100 metres to the ground.
Pictures of the event are shown below – eventually we’ll get names on the screen and perhaps comments form those involved. These are also on show in the Gallery pages.

Weston Turville U3A Newsletter – March 2015
Superstitions surrounding solar eclipses still exist today. Many people believe that solar eclipses can be a dangerous to pregnant women and their unborn child. In India, some people fast during a solar eclipse because they believe that any food cooked during the time will be poisonous, and in Italy it is believed that flowers planted during a solar eclipse are more colourful than those planted at other times of the year. A solar eclipse can only happen at new moon, when the moon directly blocks sight of the sun from certain places in the world. It can take place up to five times a year, though according to Nasa, only 25 years in the past 5,000 have had five solar eclipses. In the last 500 years read more …
