u3a National Newsletter – ❄️January 2022❄️

The u3a newsletter for the ❄️January❄️ is available here. As usual there is plenty to read, take part in and enjoy. Including:
January’s u3a Radio Podcast – Episode 14 – Kindertransport, trees, lifeboats.
For the first time, the January episode of u3a radio has launched on podcasting platforms. Members can listen to it on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts – and it is still available in captioned video form on YouTube.
What’s the Soundtrack for Your Life
We’re undertaking some research into members’ music tastes in our continued work to challenge preconceptions about age. Within the survey, which closes on Tuesday 25 January at 8pm, there is a chance for you to share your favourite songs and artists and think about the intergenerational nature of music sharing.
You can find lots of events on our online events page. Here is a sample:
Pastels with Pete – Thursday, 27 January, 2pm
Pete will use a series of photos in a time-lapse presentation to demonstrate how he produced a recent soft pastel work, explaining the decisions that are needed as the work evolves and including some video demonstrations of specific techniques.
Winter Warmers, Live Cookery demonstration – Monday 31st January, 10.30am
In this real-time demonstration Chef Alex from “Vegetarian for Life” will be cooking up 3 delicious dishes. These perfect winter warmer recipes are all vegetarian or easily made vegan.
As usual check the website regularly for the latest news, tutorials and events, some of which are listed below. Our ongoing initiatives are continuing so have a look at our learning pages to see everything that you can get involved in.
