Science & Technology – February to October

13 January, 2020

John and Roger have been busy making arrangements for the program from February to October and have now confirmed most of the trips.  It is their hope that they have arranged an interesting and memorable set of visits for the year and you will want to join them on their adventures.

If you would like to book your place or have any other questions, please contact John Beer or Roger Everson by email at science@wtu3a.org.uk or at the next general meeting.

Below are further details, including detail sheets on the events planned:

February 6th – The first meeting of the year has become uncertain. Our planned speaker has unexpectedly had to withdraw and at the moment we may have to resort to the next in the series of wonder material talks by John Beer. ‘Plastics’ is the next in line unless we can organise another speaker. This will be in the WT Chapel Hall at 2.30pm.
We are to take a coach trip up to London to the ‘Wellcome Collection, Museum and Library’ in Euston Road.  There are two permanent exhibitions on Health and Genetics.  This will be a whole day visit.  Cost £20 to leave WT at 9.30am. There are good places to eat in the building or around the site. Full details on cost and timings can be found in the attached information sheet.

We are to visit the Milton Keynes Museum which has an interesting location, artefacts and a telephone museum with working exchange.  The site will be opened especially for us and we are to combine this with the Local History group. Journey by own cars.  Leave WT at 9.30am. Entry cost is £7 for over 60’s otherwise £8. Lunch for £8. Full details on the attached information sheet.
