Finding Joy in Nature
A new learning initiative, ‘Found In Nature’ has launched and we want to see the ‘wild and interesting’ things that you have seen in wildlife and nature. Have you seen something that has challenged your perception of nature and the world around you? Get involved now.
Help Us With Our Skill Sharing Campaign
The partnership with Specsavers showcases the skills of u3a members and helps u3a reach a wider audience – so far the campaign has reached over 19.6 million people.
Mindfulness and Meditation Subject Adviser, Nancy, is the latest u3a member to share her skills as part of our campaign promoting positive ageing in collaboration with Specsavers. Watch Nancy’s video on Mindfulness on the Specsavers #GenerationWOW hub.

Pre-War Blues – Thursday, 5th May, 10am.
An introduction to the development and history of blues music from its beginnings in the 1920’s up to the advent of WWII. The course will cover Classic Female Blues, Delta Blues, Piedmont Blues, Gospel Blues and more, and will tell the story of the key artists in each genre with examples of their music.
The making of the Willow Pattern Plates – Friday 13th May, 2pm
From the ancient and treasured ‘blue and white’ porcelain which came from Cathay (the original name for China), Irene Kyffin relates stories of the bringing of these much loved pieces to Europe and the great journeys undertaken to get them here.
Picnic in the Park, Live Cookery Demonstration – Monday 16th May, 10.30am
Bruschetta; tasty pasta salad; Greek fritters with Tzatziki; mushroom pate; orange, lemon and pistachio cake – Chef Alex will be creating the ultimate picnic recipes.
