Historic Buildings Visits

12 February, 2020

Update 17.03.20 – Following the Prime Ministers briefing yesterday, we have taken the step of cancelling the trip to Upton House. In the current climate it seemed the correct thing to do to protect ourselves and others.

If you would like any further details please contact historicbuildings@wtu3a.org.uk via the link button below.  Further details can be found on the diary page of the WTU3A website

Upton House was purchased in 1927 by the 2nd Viscount Bearsted and has been remodelled.  The renovations created a made to measure home to showcase a world class art and porcelain collection, including works by Bosch, Stubbs and Canaletto.

Lady Bearsted’s passion for plants is revealed with spring bulbs, herbaceous planting and kitchen garden – all reflected in the mirror pool.  Please note that it is a terraced garden with steps.
