Aylesbury Vale u3a – Coach Trip

16 January, 2023

Aylesbury Vale u3a invites WTu3a members to join them on the following coach trip.

Chartwell (NT) and Biggin Hill – Wednesday, 1st March

Chartwell was Churchill’s home for 40 years, and today the rooms in the house remain much as they were when the family lived there, with pictures, books and personal mementos.

The hillside gardens reflect Churchill’s love of landscape.  They include the lakes he created, the kitchen garden and the playhouse he designed for his youngest daughter.   See the website.  We have a lunch here before leaving for Biggin Hill.

Biggin Hill Memorial Museum tells the story of RAF Biggin Hill from 1916 until the end of WW11 through the personal experience of those who served there and the community who supported them, with particular emphasis on their part in the Battle of Britain.  We have a guided tour here with time for refreshments before departing.  See the website

The cost, is £31 pp (+£18 for non-NT members).  Full details of this trip and other trips are on the website. To book or find out more contact Dan Mcgregor:  outings@avu3a.org.uk
