Trading Times

31 January, 2014

trading timesThis comes with a disclaimer from both the U3A and the AVDC but I have no reason to suspect that it is not entirely genuine – it does sound very interesting for those who, perhaps, have only recently stopped work or have some special skills or interests.

It concerns an organisation called Trading Times that matches the skills & availability of people over 50 with the part-time ad hoc resource requirements of local businesses. It is very new, only opening their doors nationwide on 6th Jan.

To use their words, their aims are:

  • to help businesses find people with the right skills and experience for one-off, part-time or occasional jobs;
  • to do that using the great pool of talent that is the over 50s and part-time family carers;
  • to benefit society as a whole by valuing the over 50’s and family carers, and refusing to let their talent go to waste.

 Interested? Then have a look at their web-site https://www.tradingtimes.org.uk/

 This information was sent to us by Lynne Maddocks (AVDC Community Engagement Officer) but it is not AVDC’s service and AVDC has no influence over it – the contact details are provided for who arranges this service.
