WTu3a Newsletter – May 2023

Our newsletter for May has now been published.  It’s another 4-page issue so read all the latest news here.  

The next general meeting is on Thursday 25th May, and our AGM is at the start of the meeting at 2.25pm.  Afterwards, Mervyn Edwards is our speaker and his talk is entitled “Walking the Beat to Nirvana.” Mervyn is a retired former police officer, having served in Thames Valley Police for more than 30 years, and this talk concentrates on a part of his career where he served as a specialist firearms officer as a member of the Tactical Firearms Team.

An update to our July’s meeting event is that it is now a Summer Luncheon. Tickets are £5 and will be on sale at our May and June meetings.  Details on the flyer.

Our Speaker Secretary, Carol Johnson, has been busy booking our Speakers for the next year, so click the link here to see details of Speakers planned for our General Meetings at the Rugby Club until November 2024!

With Membership Renewal Subscriptions now due (thank you to those of you that have already paid) you will be aware that your annual subscription includes a fee of £4 to the u3a Trust.  You may be interested to see how the £4 is allocated.
