Our Speaker Secretary, Heather Marshall, has done a splendid job of finding interesting and diverse speakers over the three years she was in the role, but has now handed over the reigns to our new Speaker Secretary, Simon Evers.
Simon has had a real challenge on his hands of late, as many of the speakers that were booked for the rest of the year did not wish to provide their talks over the Zoom platform, so he has had to start afresh! To whet our appetites, Simon has provided us with a synopsis of the speakers and the talks he has booked for our August, September and October virtual meetings. Read the details here.
National U3A Newsletter Express (No. 5) – 7 August 2020
Here is the U3A Newsletter Express (No. 5) from The Third Age Trust. This newsletter is full of excellent information, particularly for the re-starting of groups.
There are more dates announced for on-line events and for the Zoom tutorials. Also, the U3A are asking for your help in taking part in a survey which aims to record changes in UK shopping patterns, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. A report will be published in 2022 to help raise the profile of U3A in celebration of its 40th anniversary.
