Weston Turville U3A Newsletter – April 2017

The WTU3A Newsletter for April 2017 is brimming with news this month (well it is a newsletter!).
In brief, it contains information on two new groups starting (Chess and Card Making), plus details of the two trips planned and updates on forthcoming (and new) events from Science and Technology, Garden Visits, Visiting Churches, Historic Buildings and Extreme visits.
There is an invitation to a ‘Welcome to WTU3A’ coffee morning for our new members, a reminder that your Membership Renewal is now due, and that the AGM will take place at the April meeting. Here is the full newsletter for you to enjoy.
The Big Walk – 24th June 2017
For the children at Pace (a charity for children with motor disorders in Aylesbury https://thepacecentre.org/) walking can be a big challenge; however taking a few tentative steps can lead to greater independence. You can help transform young lives by putting on your own walking shoes and joining in the 2017 Big Walk on 24th June or by volunteering on the day.
This year’s Big Walk starts on the Icknield Way Ridgeway Link at Dunstable Downs and takes in part of the Ridgeway Trail, including Ivinghoe Beacon, Wigginton and Wendover. There is a choice of three routes:
- Dunstable Downs to Wendover (approx. 18 miles). Start time – 8am
- Ivinghoe Beacon to Wendover (approx. 12 miles). Start time – 12 noon
- Wigginton to Wendover (approx. 6 miles). Start time – 3pm
