General Meeting via Zoom – 23rd July

Although we are unable to physically meet up at this present time, the Chairman and Committee are planning to get back to monthly general meetings, albeit on Zoom.   The meeting will have a talk by Michael Astop on Origins and Oddities of English Inn Signs and the notices by the Chairman.  The talk is highly visual, with a quiz.

This will start in July with our first meeting on the scheduled date of Thursday 23rd July commencing at 2:30pm. Full details of how to access the meeting will be emailed to members nearer the time.

Flower Arranging – British Flower Week – 15th to 21st June

British Flower Week is being celebrated this week and is running until 21st June so you still have time to visit the New Covent Garden Market Virtual Events.
 
There is an Introduction by the Duchess of Cornwall, and lots of of demonstrations and floral displays to look at and also read about.   Here is a link to the schedule.

The New Covent Garden Flower Market reopened following Government guidelines on Monday 15th June.

Gardens – some NGS gardens opening

National Garden Scheme (NGS), have announced that some of their gardens in England are now open. Following Government guidelines, NGS are currently asking all visitors to pre-purchase tickets on the website for a timed slot at your garden of choice.

All funds raised will go to their Help Support Our Nurses campaign.  

Here is the link to the gardens open in the South East until 24th June. Every Monday a new batch of gardens that are opening will be added to their website to enable you to pre-book your tickets.  For instance, gardens opening between 25th June and 1st July will go on sale Monday 22nd June.
