You can help transform young lives by putting on your own walking shoes and joining in the 2017 Big Walk on 24th June or by volunteering on the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year&#8217;s Big Walk starts on the Icknield Way Ridgeway Link at Dunstable Downs and takes in part of the Ridgeway Trail, including Ivinghoe Beacon, Wigginton and Wendover. \u00a0There is a choice of three routes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Dunstable Downs to Wendover (approx. 18 miles). \u00a0Start time &#8211; 8am<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Ivinghoe Beacon to Wendover (approx. 12 miles). \u00a0Start time &#8211; 12 noon<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Wigginton to Wendover (approx. 6 miles). \u00a0Start time &#8211; 3pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Registration (\u00a320 registration fee \/ \u00a3100 fundraising target) will take place in Wendover, where parking will be available, then walkers will be shuttled to their chosen starting point by coach.\u00a0(Please note that the start times given above\u00a0are the times you are\u00a0scheduled to start the walk. You will need to allow time to register and for the shuttle service to your start point &#8211; you will receive more information after you register.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The walks are guided and there will be a team supplying drinks and snacks and plenty of motivation on route. \u00a0Refreshments, snacks and a warm, celebratory welcome will greet you at the end of the walk. \u00a0Please dress for all weathers as we cannot control the UK weather!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We would like the walks to be guided with each route having a couple of lead walkers and back walkers, as well as potentially having marshals along the way. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you are able to help by volunteering on the day, please contact: \u00a0Kelly Houghton at kelly.houghton@thepacecentre.org.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the children at Pace (a charity for children with motor disorders in Aylesbury\u00a0https:\/\/thepacecentre.org\/) walking can be a big challenge; however taking a few tentative steps can lead to greater independence.
