In September on the 5th a Wednesday, we are taking a trip to the Shuttleworth Museum via own transport. Meet in the 5 Bells car Park for a 9-00 start. Those who don’t wish to drive will be found a lift. The Tour is to start at 10-30 and will take 2.5 hrs and the post code is SG18 9DU. The Cost of the tour is £12 and if you wish to stay for the afternoon and visit the gardens then this will be an extra £6. Spaces are available. Can Cheque payments be made asap. For October the 2nd a Tuesday we are making a trip to the Music Museum in Chiswick using own transport. A tour at £8-50 has been arranged to start at 1-00 and will last approx 2 hrs. We may get a ride on a Wurlitzer which they have at the museum. We plan to meet at the 5 Bells at 11-00 and then have lunch there before the tour. The Cafe has a reasonably priced basic menu. Lifts will be available. Spaces are available and payment is now due as a cheque, see below.
On 20th November a Tuesday we are making a trip to the Postal Museum in London, by coach, which will be combined with a walking tour of significant Postal sites, Fish and Chip lunch and a coach view of the lights on our return. This will be a long day ie 10-00 to 8-00ish. Total Cost will be £43 plus £10 for the lunch. Initially to express your wish to come can you supply a £25 non-returnable deposit ASAP. At the present we have 39 places booked for a 53 seater coach and 68 people interested. Will have a reserve list after all the places have been taken. It should be noted that there are restrictions on the train journey in the museum and we shall be walking around London streets as part of the trip, so mobility is an issue. Places booked on a first come, serve basis.
The last meet of the year on December 6th will be in the Chapel for the next episode of why things move taken by Paul Brown.
Cheques for the above should be made out to ‘Weston Turville U3A (Travel)’ and please make them out separately for each event. Please contact science@wtu3a.org.uk for the address to post your cheques to, or alternatively at any of our meetings or the monthly General Meeting.
Many thanks
